Top Navigation Apps Performance in Ireland Q3 2025

In the third quarter of 2025, the top navigation and maps applications in Ireland showed varied performance trends across downloads and active users. This analysis, based on data from Sensor Tower, highlights the key dynamics for each app.

TFI Live, published by the National Transport Authority, experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 6K and peaking at over 9K by early September. The weekly active users also saw a consistent rise, reaching over 536K by the end of the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained stable weekly downloads, ranging between 5.8K and 6.8K. Active users showed a gradual increase, culminating in approximately 164K by late September.

Google Maps displayed a slight decline in downloads, starting at 3.4K and tapering off to 2.5K. Despite this, the app maintained a strong user base, with active users fluctuating around 2.2M.

Google Earth saw a modest increase in downloads from 2K to around 2.4K by the end of the quarter. Active users initially declined but rebounded to approximately 41K.

Lastly, what3words: Navigation & Maps had relatively low download numbers, peaking at 704 in late August. Active users showed variability, reaching a high of 1.1K during the quarter.
